Chennai: `Ilainjan' the Tamil movie by Karunanidhi and lottery king Santiago Martin would be ready for release by February next. Director Suresh Krishna in a press meet in Chennai said that the shooting of the film, in which Malayalee actresses Meera Jasmine and Ramya Nambeesan are the heroines, has been completed. The audio would be released in December. Ilainjan, in fact is the 75th script by Karunanidhi to go into production. The story is based on the ship-building industry
Another venture taken out by Martin is the film `Ponnan Shankar' where the screenplay is also written by Karunandhi himself. The other day AIADMK chief Jayalalitha alleged that Martin had paid Rs 50 lakh for the screenplay. The hero of the film is noted lyricist in Tamil, P Vijay.
A ship costing Rs 3 crore was built at the Binny Spinning mill compound in Perambur by a team led by art director Thotta Tahrini for the film. 700 people spent 3 months constructing the Rainbow for Rs 3 crores. Karunanidhi himself selected the actors for the lead roles. Glamour fame Namitha is also doing a good role. Actress Khushboo, who recently joined DMK, is also doing a role.
Meanwhile, lottery king was not present in the press meet.
